Since we closed on the house, we have been making small changes. While my mom was visiting, we started to clean out the 3 flower beds in front of house. It was hard work! The weeds and crabgrass had taken over. I wish we had a tiller, but we did it all with shovels, and spades. I had a few mornings after, where getting out of bed was quite difficult!
Once the weeds were gone(for the most part) and the earth turned over, we went shopping for plants. We were lucky enough to find an end of season sale at a local nursery. We only spent about 20$ for all the plants we put in the beds. The bags of mulch we used to finish it off cost more thatn that!
It's really nice to look at, and feel a sense of accomplishment. Derek was a huge help, especially with the clay dirt we have here in Utah.
Now onto the backyard!
